Country Music Television will not be attending Sea Otter

You may remember this rig from such crazy cross country road trips as the "Nashville Dash"

Over the weekend we got to the task of un-CMT-ing the trailer.

Needless to say it's going to be a long job...

After attemping a couple of different methods inclusive of but not limited to: high pressure water, bare hands, cleaning solutions and colorful language, we finally found the trick...

Hair Dryer! Or in this case industrial strength heat gun. With the heat applied to the wrap on the warmest day we've had in Southern Oregon for some time we were happy to find the vinyl wrap eased off quite nicely.

On a side note, anyone who has every tried applying stickers to anything will know of the problems with bubbles and imperfections as you lay out the vinyl. This trailer had been wrapped in vinyl completely. That's a lot of sticker to get onto a trailer without any sort of imperfections. I was VERY impressed with the skills of the man who put this on, nice job!

We didn't manage to get finished over last weekend so stay tuned for updates as we get to finishing this mammoth task.

Hows your Sea Otter prep going?

Grammo on Pink Bike

Now there's something you don't see every day, Carbon Wheels on Pink Bike.

Looks like one of the guys from Banshee bikes took the Taiwan tour, and was acting as improvised Pink correspondent.

Check out the Day 4 photos, several wheel companies caught his eye, and right in the middle you see the 2010 model Factors plus the all new F5:8 carbon/Alloy clinchers!

Sea Otter Countdown

Unrealcycles always pushes the boat out for Sea Otter as anyone who follows this blog will know, and this year is no exception.

We are becoming infamous (is that an oxymoron?) for launching new products and brands at the annual season opener, so our search for new and exclusive items continues and this year we will have at least 3 new Brands, from Urban/Park, DH and Slope style to Road and Tri there is a little something for everyone.

As we try to compliment the total offering from our site we will debut a brand new UK based BMX Line Sneek Preview . A line of high end, high tech mountain bikes from Poland, and hopefully a new Tire line from Switzerland.

All this plus brand new products from Grammo, On One, Orange and Whyte.

To give you an idea of how leading edge this stuff is, non of it is even in the country yet, and most of the frames are not even painted.

And we only have 2 1/2 weeks to go.......

For the most up to the moment products, you know who to visit (with your camera).

OK ......Breathe

Sorry I forgot I left you holding your breath...........

Shot of the LOOK TT bike from Taipei.

Now I know all the Triathletes out there want to own this bike, cost for a replica would be around $20K.

Still want to own one?

On Line Help

Not sure if this was a good idea or not, but, in line with the instant gratification of a "buy it now" button, we are going to trial instant online support.

Simply click the "chat" button and get through to one of our highly trained and knowledgeable staff (there is only one!).

There will be no BFF or WTF type acronyms but hopefully it may help some of our overseas customers get answers quickly and in more detail.

I am told it will work on my mobile phone too... but I do need a few hours with my eyes closed!

If it's a success we will fully implement the service including IP voice and video, so make sure you look presentable before asking advice and I promise to stop wearing my PJs to work!

You know who to chat with!

High Performance

As you know we are always trying to add quality brands to our line up.

With that in mind we are very pleased to announce Lynskey Performance frames and complete bikes will now be available from Unrealcycles.

Initially we will offer the mountain and Cyclocross frames, but will add the road frames in the near future.

Due to the custom finish options and personal detailing, these frames will all be special order, but most are available for delivery within 10 days.

Our first customer frame ships next week, for more information and options,

Bike Show 101

First, had you noticed we were gone yet?

We are working very hard to use all the very latest intertube technology to make sure that you can't tell we are working from 5000 miles away in Taipei.

We arrived here on Monday Morning having lost a day somewhere along the journey. This is the view of Taipei 101 from the hotel window

Spent today at the exhibition hall helping the nice folks from Grammo set up their booth. There will be lots of new things including the already outed Carbon mountain fork and the F5:8C carbon /Alloy clincher wheels, seen here mounted on a secret road frame.

Can you tell what this frame is?

Send us a comment below if you think you have the answer.

It will be unwrapped tomorrow and there will be more pictures, including some of a particularly colorful concept bike from France, sporting an equally colorful pair of Grammo Factor 5:0TTs

Stay tuned for more tomorrow on the opening day of the show!

007 Spy Shots

Whilst trying to stay the right side of the grey line surrounding launch dates, we may be jumping the gun, but here we have two exclusive shots of new Grammo products about to hit the US:

First up the all new F5:8 Carbon/Alloy clincher wheelset:

Rim: 57.5mm Carbon/Alloy CFD designed
Hub: Grammo
Spokes: DT Swiss
Weight: 970g R , 810g F, 1780g pair

These new wheels are a true alternative to full carbon tubular race wheels, delivering similar performance from a clincher option.

We expect a small number to be available in early April, watch out for them at Sea Otter!

Second up the all new Grammo carbon mtb fork.

Two versions will be available 26" (430mm) and 29" (465mm)

Axle - Crown: 430mm or 465mm
Steerer: Alloy 1 1/8"
Drop outs: Standard MTB with Disc mount
Weight: 955g or 970g

With anodized black crown and drop outs, and premium quality 3k finish on the fork legs, these items are the first of several new products that will cross over from road to mtb.

Prices will be very competitive and we will have them first in the US! Watch this space and be ready because they will be flying out the door no doubt!

Early Start

They say biking is in the blood, if that is the case then this little flyer has all the makings of the next Mark Cavendish or Dave Millar.

Young master Brookes is the aiming to emulate his illustrious Mom and Dad with either sailing or cycling in his future (or both!)

Having already achieved the Green and Yellow jerseys (the throwing up phase) he is now working towards the polka dot jersey (feeding himself and throwing jam everywhere).

Watch out for this little champion in the Tour De Central Park!

That Guy!

That famous icon of the steel single speed world will be visiting shows around the US this year.

Known as a sharp dresser, and well groomed individual, his oral hygene does leave a little to be desired (claims he spends all his time riding and so has no time for regular dental visits).

Outspoken, some would say full of hot air, but always a topic of conversation.

Watch out for the Inbred man...........
